Strengthened the accuracy of face / eye detection AF performance

The AF algorithm has been improved along with the accuracy of face / eye detection AF. The ability to detect faces in the distance has been enhanced by approximately 30% and AF tracking is now more stable, even when an obstacle appears in the way. The improvements in AF are applicable to both still photos and video recording.

New Face Select function

The Face Select function has been introduced to provide priority auto-focus, tracking and exposure on a selected subject when multiple faces have been detected. The priority face can be selected by using the touch screen or focus lever.

Faster AF speed for subjects at a distance

Thanks to the improved AF algorithm, faster AF speed is achieved when shooting from short to long distances (or vice versa).

Intuitive operation of touch screen

A Double Tap Setting and Touch Function has been added to the touch screen settings*. The two settings must be set to OFF to provide a better touch screen response. These new settings allow a more intuitive touch operation when shooting, AF and focus area select.

Focus frame display for Eye detection function

Only the focus frame on the eye will be displayed when Eye detection function is enabled.

Improved AF/MF area tracking on touchscreen while using EVF

Tracking of AF/MF area movement by touch screen is improved while EVF is in use.

Improved speed of continuous shooting with Flicker reduction function

The menu option for Flicker reduction function is changed from ON / OFF to ALL FRAMES / FIRST FRAME / OFF. And when FIRST FRAME is selected, the speed of CH continuous shooting is improved.

4K HDR video recording in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG)

Supports 4K HDR video recording in the Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), one of the formats defined in the ITU-R BT.2100 international standards**. It allows the capture of rich and realistic images in a scene where there is a huge gap between highlight and shadow, or subjects with high color saturation.

Simultaneous output of Film Simulation and F-Log footage***

Supports simultaneous output of Film Simulation and F-Log footage. It allows you to record in F-Log while checking Film Simulation image on an external monitor.

Display color temperature (Kelvin) on EVF/LCD

Color temperature (Kelvin) can be displayed on EVF/LCD.

Supports slower shutter speeds with DCI4K/4K 29.97P/25P/24P/23.98P*4

Slower shutter speeds than the framerate can be selected with 4K 29.97P/25P/24P/23.98P. The setting cannot be applied when you select Long GOP with DCI4K/4K or FHD. Please refer to the “Movie Recording Mode” chart below for more details.

Compatible with ALL-Intra and maximum bitrate 400Mbps with H.264

Using H.264 compression, you will now to be able to select ALL-Intra at a maximum bitrate of 400Mbps.

Display power supply icon

Power supply icon is displayed on EVF/LCD while using AC adapter (AC-9VS), or Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD*5 and Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 PD*6

  • * By default, Touch Screen Setting, Double Tap Setting and Touch Function are set to all OFF. For improved touch screen response, Touch Screen Setting must be set to ON.
  • ** Only compatible with H.265(HEVC). Please enjoy with television or display compatible with HLG formats.
  • *** Not compatible with 59.94P/50P, FHD high speed rec., 4K interframe NR, and HDMI output info display mode. Also, cannot choose different image size (4K/FHD) for HDMI output and internal SD card recording.
